About the integration
Bring your clients into the portal using the Xplan integration. You can import your Xplan client data, including client details, balance sheet items and IPS portfolios.
How it works
Advisers who use Xplan are able to import the following data into their portal:
- Primary Client details (name, preferred email address, and phone number)
Importing of partners/spouses and Non-Client entities (Partner, Trust, SMSF) is currently not supported. These can be brought in via CSV file upload.
- Balance Sheet Items
- IPS portfolios associated with each client
NOTE: Partners on the legacy pricing plans, or Enhance and above, can import IPS portfolios and Balance sheet Items. Partners on the Connect plan can only import client details.
Imported clients will be visible in your portal client list, and their portfolios will be visible in the Wealth area of their personal portals. Balance sheet items are reviewed separately and you are in control of which items are brought across.
For client data imported from Xplan to the portal, Xplan will act as the “source of truth”, i.e data in the portal will always be updated to match what is in Xplan . For client details this happens when the clients are first imported, and every time an additional import is manually triggered. Portfolio values are updated automatically overnight with the latest Xplan value. Balance sheet items, once brought in to the portal via an import, can be updated in the portal and by triggering an export you can send those new or updated items back to Xplan.
The sync between Xplan and the portal occurs at the adviser level, not the firm level. This means only client data you have sufficient permissions for in Xplan will be imported when you enable the connection.
It is advised to use a login that has IPS Portfolio access.
Enabling and using the integration:
Step 1: Connect your Xplan account to the portal via the dedicated integration page.
For further instructions see How to setup your Xplan integration
Step 2: If a connection has already been established, visit the integration page and click ‘Import data’ to import additional clients and/or portfolios.
For further instructions, see I have connected Xplan to my portal, how do I import new clients and/or information?
Step 3: Review the list of clients being pulled through and select the ones you want to import.
Step 4: Review the portfolios associated with each client and select the ones you want to import.
For further instructions see How do I review and import client portfolio items from the Xplan integration?
Step 5: Confirm the import to see the clients in your portal client list, then view their portals to see their portfolios.
Step 6: Review and import balance sheet items.
These are not visible during the review and import process. If balance sheet items have been imported, the data will flow through after some processing time. When ready to review, a marker next to the client name in the Client list will appear. You can choose which balance sheet items are brought into the portal.
For further instructions see How do I review and import balance sheet items from the Xplan integration?
Step 7: Now that the client/s have been linked with Xplan , you have the ability to export wealth items back to Xplan . Any time wealth items are updated in the portal or new items are added, an export must be manually triggered to send the data back to Xplan .
