Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), is a second layer of security that reduces the risk of unwanted access to an account. It requires a two-step identification process every time you login to your account.
At a firm level, you have the ability to enable MFA for your staff only, or your staff and clients.
If you do not wish to enable MFA for your whole firm, you can enable MFA for clients individually. Clients also have the ability to enable MFA for themselves.
Once MFA is configured, the user will enter their email address and password to log into their portal and then verify their identity. Identity verification is completed by either entering a temporary code from the Google Authenticator app which is installed on a mobile device or by answering a set of security questions that have been configured by the user.
