Importing a client or entity and their data from XPM into the portal is simple.
There are 2 ways you can import a client from XPM: Via the Client list or via the Advanced Search .
NOTE: Before either import method can be used, you must ensure your XPM integration has been set up via the Configure> Integrations area. See How to set up your XPM Integration
Importing a client or entity from XPM via the Client list:

Navigate to Clients>Client List.
- Select Add clients>from integrations>From Xero practice manager.
- A search box appears. Type in the Client/Entity name to search within XPM:
a) If adding an entity as a client, the following window will appear, where you can adjust the Entity name and type before proceeding to add.
b) If adding an individual client, the following window will appear.
Set the Client type, subscription type and decide if you want to send the client a welcome email.
IMPORTANT: Each client you import requires their own unique email address. If the client does not have their own unique email address they will not be imported.
- Once the client/entity have been added they will appear in the Client list.
A success message will display where you can proceed to import client details and relationships from XPM, or send the entity or client a task to complete.

Importing a client or entity from XPM using the 'Advanced Search' feature:
- From your partner portal, navigate to the top of the page and click '+Advanced search'.
- A drop-down box appears. By selecting the checkbox next to the XPM integration, your XPM client list will be viewable in the search feature.

In the search bar, type the name of the client or entity you are looking for. The dropdown box will show if the client already exists in your portal, or only exists in XPM . If the client does not appear under the 'MP clients' heading, this indicates that they are not an active client in the portal.
To import the entity/client from XPM, click 'Import'.
