Establishing a connection between the client/entity in the portal and their FYI Docs file is necessary in order to carry out a sync of their stored documents from FYI to the portal and vice versa.
Likewise, it is also as important to be able to disconnect a client from their FYI Docs file if they are no longer with your firm.
To connect a client/entity to their FYI Docs file:
- Navigate to the Client >Client list.
- Locate the client/entity, click the 3 dots 'Action' button>Integration actions>FYI Docs>Connect to FYI Docs.
- A slide-out window will appear, asking you to select which client in FYI Docs you want to link to.
Select 'Link to existing account'.
- A search box appears. Type in the Client or entity name you want to link to, click their name and select 'Confirm'.
- Once you have selected a client/entity to link to in FYI Docs , you are taken back to the slide-out window where confirmation of the account you will link to is shown.
Click 'Continue'.
- The client is now successfully linked to their FYI Docs file. A confirmation window is shown, and you can now sync their documents as necessary.
To disconnect a client/entity from their FYI Docs file:
- Navigate to the Client >Client list.
- Locate the client, click the 3 dots 'Action' button >Integration actions>FYI Docs>Disconnect client from FYI Docs.
- A pop-up window will appear, asking you to confirm the disconnection. Click 'Disconnect client'.
IMPORTANT: Once the client has been disconnected from their FYI Docs file, no documents can be synced from FYI to the portal and vice versa. If you want to sync documents again, you will need to reconnect the client to their FYI Docs file, as shown above.
- Once the disconnection has been triggered, you are taken back to the Client list where a confirmation message appears.
