Importing an individual client or entity and their data from APS into the portal is simple.
There are 2 ways you can import a client from APS: via the Client list or via Advanced Search.
NOTE: Before either import method can be used, you must ensure your APS integration has been established via the Configure> Integrations area. See How to set up your APS Integration
Let's take a look at both options:
Importing a client or entity from APS via the Client list:
-
Navigate to Clients > Client List.
- Select Add clients>from integrations>From Xero practice manager.
- A search box appears. Type in the Client/Entity name to search within APS:
a) If adding an entity as a client, the following window will appear, where you can adjust the Entity name and type before proceeding to add.
b) If adding an individual client, the following window will appear.
Set the Client type, subscription type and decide if you want to send the client a welcome email.

- Once the client/entity have been added they will appear in the Client list.
A success message will display where you can proceed to import data from APS, or send the entity or client a task to complete.
Note: For an entity, it is best to add a connection first How do I add a connection, professional or authorised user to an entity?
