Adding and inviting clients to the portal is a breeze with just a few simple steps. Although adding and inviting clients is easy, it’s a good idea to consider your onboarding strategy to make the process as smooth as possible.
Rolling out the portal client-by-client often works best. This method allows you to control and manage each client’s onboarding individually, making sure they activate their accounts, complete any necessary tasks, and get comfortable using the portal.
Marketing and Education
Upfront guidance can go a long way. To help with education and positioning the portal to clients, leverage the Marketing Hub to help highlight the portal's features and benefits.
The Client Help Centre is also packed with helpful written and video instructions to guide clients through their tasks. A good marketing and introduction strategy will make the onboarding process a breeze!
Adding clients
How you add a client depends on whether they exist within a platform that integrates with the portal, such as Xero Practice Manager or Xplan. Adding a client via an integration is efficient and allows the connection of the client between systems. Of course, you can always add your client direclty into the portal without the need to use an integration.
Take a look at how you can add your clients:
- To add a client directly into the portal
- To add a client from the Xplan integration
- To add a client from the FYI integration
- To add a client from Xero Practice Manager
- To add a client from CFS Edge
Inviting clients
Once your client has been added into the portal, you are ready to invite them using the most appropriate invitation method for them. Try using a task-focused approach for invitations. For example, you might send a document to sign or a digital form to complete. When clients receive a task they need to act on, it encourages them to activate their account.
